A Case for the Brief
I just wrote the words "brief case" and I was immediately thrown back to a time when I was short and less than five years old.
I often heard the two words. I think an uncle I had even had one. But he never used it, and it sat in this place of seeming importance filled with papers that he never looked at. For later, they must have been. So important as this case was, I believed its powers and use were reserved for higher things. Brief cases. Breathe cases.
My little child mind believe that they were called breathe cases. This same little mind of mind also thought that they were strictly for taking on airplanes and used in the event of a loss of cabin pressure. In this even, I thought, passengers would place them on their laps, open them, and shove their faces inside... and breathe.
