A Certain Type
I was surfing the Web and came across a New York metro site. I clicked on Bergdorf's and in the blurb, it describes the folks the store targets: They cater to a generally conservative and very sophisticated clientele. I wonder what exactly this means. How does one determine if a shopper is conservative or sophisticated enough? What if we all had ID cards that rated us on a scale from one to 10, one, of course, being homeless and 10 being off-the-charts conservatively sophisticated. Where would you fall? And what if, by a non-Bergdorfs judge's standards, you were sophisticated enough to grace Bergdorf's with your presence? Would it be sophisticated enough for them? I'm sure they don't deny people entrance at the door, but I can only imagine the stares someone deemed Ber
