Both Scary And Pathetic

So I was doing my routine check of the news, both here and abroad, and I came across a headline that I thought topped off a bit of a joke on Huffington Post. Written by Jill Iscol and called "How Dare You," the post is a diatribe, and not a joke as I soon discovered, that lambasts the Democratic party for treating Hillary Clinton the way it has.

Um. So it goes on and insists that, well, here's an excerpt:

"I am a Hillary supporter and along with millions of Democrats throughout our country , I have been outraged by how the media have treated her throughout this primary season. But what is most disturbing is how my Party has stood by and allowed the demeaning and dishonest attacks on Hillary to continue. This is not the party I thought I belonged to."

I made it to the end of the article and decided to read a few posts from the 33 pages' worth at the bottom. This one struck me and angered me and scared me and so help me if this happens, the one Hillary supporter I know is gonna hear it from me:

So it seems that, based on this one person's comment, that there will be a high number of people, apparently women, who stay home on voting day because they're bitter that their crazy lady didn't get the nomination. (A crazy lady I voted for in New York back when she wasn't crazy.)

If this happens, then McCain wins and then he gets to put a judge in the Supreme Court most likely and abortion becomes illegal and teens and girls will revert to alleys and coat hangers. Very pro-woman, I'd say. If this happens, the war goes on indefinitely. Very pro-person, I'd say.

This sentiment of this one commenter, which, according to polls, has a following, is astounding. It's astounding especially because no one has taken the nomination away. Nobody's won it yet, though it seems Obama will, despite what happens this weekend with the DNC rules committee. Of course they'll be meeting to discuss the Florida and Michigan delegates, delegates that Hillary Clinton agreed to ignore way back when she just knew this nomination was hers.

This is no longer a fun process to watch. It's disappointing. Thankfully, by the time we hit the bookfest next weekend, more information will be available. What of Florida and Michigan? What of the superdelegates? What of our nation's future?
