Cafeteria Writing

Cleophus just sat down at my table in the Graduate Faculty cafeteria. Cleophus is the head maintenance guy. He's really cool. He's 58, and when he retires in four years, or maybe five, he's going back to Brazil. He told me that my incentive for getting through this is the school loans I have to repay. Hmmm.

So how are the papers coming? Well, I've just finished the outline for my slavery paper. I decided to examine both sides of the slave-narrative-as-valid-historical-document argument. My goal is to have it done by Sunday evening. We'll see. This Friday, 11/15, a couple of friends of mine are opening Woody Guthrie’s American Song Martha's singin' and Dave Riggs is fiddlin'. So all Sac dwellers, get out and support your community theatre. It's inexpensive and if I'm not mistaken, Dave's first theatrical performance where people actually see him. I wish I could be there. I should be getting out of here because they're about to close.

But first, I should mention that Kim is leaving school after the semester. I will miss her becuase she cracks me up. The good thing is that I have a class with Debbie. Debbie works in the housing department. I've asked Debbie to see what she can do about preventing a replacement. I've got to work these things. We'll see what happen. Hopefully, Debbie's powers of persuasion are strong. Ok, Clephous is about to kick me out. I love writing.
