Class Trip
I saw my ex-girlfriend the other day. She was standing right before me while I was reading in my building, which from now on I'll refer to it as Graduate Faculty just because I like the way it sounds. This is ex-girlfriend #3. It was civil. We exchanged phone numbers. She is a first-year grad student herself and her building is directly across the street from mine.
We caught up a bit, and our conversation was peppered with an occasional "this is really weird" from both of us. I got my classes. I'm taking Modernity and Its Discontents, The Rise and Fall of New World Slavery and the Sociology of Race. I'm excited to have formal classes in race and slavery. And I'm going to look up "modernity" before Tuesday. This is all I'm going to write for now because blogger is actually a bit of a headache. I'm probably the only one on earth having issues. Should I blame it on the Mac? I'm about to. But I'll try to be a little more patient.
