Settling In
I'm gonna go read at a Starbucks on Astor Place. I'd go to Washington Square park but it looks like it's about to rain all over the place and I'm not trying to get wet. I finished Werther and I wrote a little about it yesterday. It's a strange thing to sit here and just think. Trying to come up with something remotely intelligent to say about the progress of freedom and young Werther's inability to think rationally. Today I'm going to read a few chapters in my racism reader and then S. Daynes (sociology professor I'm meeting Wednesday for coffee) wants us to read a book called Against Racism by Paul Gilroy. I almost bought it a while ago. Should have. We have the semester to read it so I'll read a couple chapters a week. I'm also going to read a chapter from my slavery teacher's book. That will be fun. Reading his words and then listening to him every Tuesday regurgitate those words. Fun. Ok. I'm leaving. Say hi to the west. Go Spurs!
